A private company that wants to make an initial offering of some of its private equity stock will come to The Angel Company and be able to do it.

Much like someone can sell their lawnmower on Ebay via auction, a private equity company can sell their equity on The Angel Company.

Imagine if Ebay’s method was patented. Someone could still sell their lawnmower to their neighbor but not auction it online without a patent license.
